The unique functionalist complex was built between 1928-1930 by the Mánes Association of Fine Artists (SVU Mánes), designed by architect Otakar Novotný on the site of the former Šítkovské mills. It is registered in the List of Cultural Monuments of the Czech Republic and protected as an immovable monument. In the fall of 1998, the first meeting of the preparatory committee took place, which organized the restoration of the Czechoslovak Rotary District, which took place a year later.
